The Moderator Plan

15 Jul

The current moderation of ACP chat is a clustered nightmare. Our very own troops often blend in, and are even overshadowed by retired mods. ACP moderation is increasingly lazy, and we are continually having the same reoccurring problem. ACP will have about 30 on chat for an event, and only 12 will be on. A lot of moderators will be AFK, and the bulk of the troops is Owners, and enthusiastic members looking to rank up. This is the current moderator line of the ACP:

ACP currently has 30 moderators, not including the retirees and partners of ACP who often adorn chat. Look at the people in this picture, and be honest with yourself. Who are the actual hard working people in this picture? And who is the dead weight that we leave there to bring us down? Chainz and I think that the current system of “if you don’t do shit, you don’t get shit”, is flawed. We have formulated a radical, but largely effective idea, to kick ACP back into gear. We believe that if ACP chat was reset, and that every Mod, including retirees and partners of ACP, were made member, it would be for the good of ACP. What!? No! But wait, listen. This would only be for two days, and Moderators would have to fill out a form answering various questions about their moderation, and perhaps future moderation of the ACP. This will entirely drop the dead weight, and give a basis for your plans to make ACPRF required to all Moderators. A clean slate would be created per se; we as an Army would have a springboard to go off of. This would even kick start the ACPTR. This would be the form:

What is your rank?

What do you contribute to the ACP? Please answer in one paragraph(5 sentences).

How loyal are you 1-10?(Lies will only end your rank).

Simple as that. It pressures ACP Moderators to challenge their loyalty, and really look at themselves. This could all be done with hype of it, but Chainz and I agree it would be better pushed on ACP suddenly, which would show the true colors.

A main point of the 2 days to comment is showing how active our moderators actually are. If they don’t comment within the 2 day time frame, they are given the option for a repeal form, in which will be given out for half a week. This is the much stricter form:

What is your rank?

Why did you not check ACP’s site often enough to see this very important form. Or even chat? Do not give us excuses.

Why do you deserve to retain your rank, and how will that benefit the ACP of the future?

This form is much stricter, forcing the person to reflect on what they have skimmed over. We suggest the choices made for the fillers of this form are not ones taken easily.

Going to the next topic relevant to this, we strive to also examine retirees. Retirees being moderator, as said earlier, often makes troops blend in with them. They are often over-critical, stressful presences, and bullies to the actual troops of the ACP. Therefore, there should be some serious changes regarding what retirees get mod. We suggest that there should be an evaluation of how these retirees usually behave on chat, and take that as a basis to act further, deciding where they should be. This would also include people made moderator for reasons other than that they are a retiree.

Our last suggestion is that ACP focuses more on the Members of the army. The unforeseen foundation quite literally. We think that soldiers from the ranks Private – First Lieutenant should be subject to the weekly selection of one troop to get a Promotion. Instead of the system where you get a large sum of medals, this promotion would only be eligible to these ranks, and the most loyal, active, and resourceful troops. A soldier may only receive this honor once a month. Chainz asked many people that left ACP, and a lot cited their reason as ‘inability to rank up as a member/boredom’. We as an Army need to focus more on our members if we are going to succeed. We need to invigorate them with nationalism. By doing even a small project like this, it will give them something they can try for.
